ANDY MCCOY

Always a larger than life figure, Andy was a rock star at an age normal people are still in school and seek their thrills stealing apples from a neighbours' garden. Having recorded and released the first punk single in Finland at the age of 15, Andy got his first gold record at 16 as a member of the band, Pelle Miljoona Oy, but by the time he was to receive the gold albums, Andy was already in Stockholm with Hanoi Rocks.

After Hanoi Rocks disbanded, Andy went to California, recording and playing with several bands over there until he too decided it was time to move back to Finland. During his 90's solo career, he at one stage had a swedish guy called A.C. playing in his band.

At the end of the 90's Andy had a film about his life made. The Real McCoy is a weird and scary and fun ride with Andy and his wife Angela, and more of the same but in a more real life tone was available when The McCoys show ran in Finnish TV in 2003. The series gathered approximately 1 000 000 viewers per episode in Finland, that's 20% of the population.
